Almost three quarters (70%) of hiring managers are finding it extremely or moderately difficult to attract telecoms talent to their organisation. This is more pronounced amongst hiring managers who seek permanent staff (82%) compared to those who typically hire contractors/freelancers (58%).
Over two thirds (68.9%) of contractors/freelancers think they are paid more than or in line with average compared to other people in their sector in a similar role. However, a significant proportion (42.1%) of permanent employees think they are paid less than others in similar roles.
Half (50.0%) of permanent staff are looking to leave their current company within the next year. This correlates with hiring manager sentiment that their retention strategy is not successful.
